A visit to the Lake District Wildlife Park, near Bassenthwaite.
We visited the Lake District Wildlife Park to find out about meerkats and their habitats at the start of November, including why they don't live in the North Pole.
Autumn Term 2
We have another exciting half-term ahead of us. We are hoping to go to the Lake District Wildlife Park to find out about meerkats and their habitats. Towards the end of the half-term we will be looking at starting to practise our Nativity with Class 1. The half-term overview will tell you more about our exciting learning:
We will continue to use the knowledge organisers to help us remember some of the key information and vocabulary that will be used during lessons.
Autumn Term 1
We have a lot to look forward to this half-term. We are hoping to get out and about in the local area to find out what we can do to improve the area around us. To give you more of an idea of what we will be studying this half-term we have produced a half-term overview:
This year we will also be using knowledge organisers to help us remember some of the key information and vocabulary that will be used during lessons.
Kate Alizadeh is our new class penpal!
Through #BookPenPals Class 2 has been linked up with the children's author and illustrator Kate Alizadeh. We are very excited to be linked up with her and in the last week of term we all wrote a letter to her introducing ourselves.
Class 2 were very successful in the potato competition and we really enjoyed tasting them!
This term our first question is 'Was the Great Fire of London a tragedy?'. We will be looking into how the fire started and why it spread so quickly... We will also be finding out about Samuel Pepys and his precious cheese!
In the second half-term we will be looking at the question 'Where did and do the wheels on the bus go?'. We are hoping to get out and about in the school minibus and investigate our local area. We will be looking at the book the Naughty Bus.
The time is also coming up where we will be harvesting our potatoes as part of the Class 2, 3 and 4 competition. We are very confident that we will win although we will remind you that it is the taking part that counts!
